A strange little side quest
Even a quick game like Traffic-Light Simulator sits on top of decades — and sometimes centuries — of ideas. The Oregon Trail mixed travel, supplies, risk and survival decisions decades before resource-management systems became common in mainstream games. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Pong was field-tested in California bars in 1972 and helped launch the modern arcade-game era. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
