A strange little side quest
Between one round of The Lucid Void and the next, this is worth knowing: The name Tetris combines a reference to four-square pieces with Pajitnov's interest in tennis. And the history keeps stacking up: By 1987, fantasy role-playing had become a major computer-game direction, with Zelda, licensed Dungeons & Dragons games and other story-led adventures expanding the form. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
