A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Thanksgiving Spot the Difference is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. Nancy Johnson patented a hand-cranked ice-cream freezer in 1843 that used an inner churning chamber surrounded by ice. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Reader Rabbit's 1986 arrival was part of a major expansion of educational computer software before the CD-ROM boom of the 1990s. That gives Thanksgiving Spot the Difference a little more company than it first appears to have.
