A strange little side quest
The next time Slide in the Woods asks for one more try, remember that game ideas rarely appear from nowhere. In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. The surprising part is how quickly the next milestone followed. Pong was field-tested in California bars in 1972 and helped launch the modern arcade-game era. That gives Slide in the Woods a little more company than it first appears to have.
