A strange little side quest
Six Helix may feel immediate, but the ideas around arcade history have been evolving for a very long time. Street Fighter II, released in 1991, turned head-to-head arcade fighting into a worldwide phenomenon and helped define the modern fighting-game genre. And the history keeps stacking up: Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. That long chain of experiments is part of why arcade history still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
