A strange little side quest
The rules may be simple on screen, but the backstory around Sift Renegade is anything but tiny. Atari's Gran Trak 10 from 1974 is recognized as the first arcade racing video game, decades before modern 3D racers. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Boxing was part of the ancient Olympic Games by 688 BC, long before gloves, weight classes, or timed rounds existed in anything like their modern form. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
