A strange little side quest
Even a quick game like Sift Heads sits on top of decades — and sometimes centuries — of ideas. Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris in 1984 after drawing inspiration from pentomino puzzles, then simplified the idea around shapes made from four squares. It also connects to a different milestone: By 1987, fantasy role-playing had become a major computer-game direction, with Zelda, licensed Dungeons & Dragons games and other story-led adventures expanding the form. So a round of Sift Heads is not just a quick distraction; it is a tiny stop on a much longer puzzles timeline.
