A strange little side quest
Between one round of Satisroom: Perfectly Organized and the next, this is worth knowing: Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris in 1984 after drawing inspiration from pentomino puzzles, then simplified the idea around shapes made from four squares. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. In 18th-century America, upper-class men as well as women wore make-up, a reminder that beauty customs have never been as fixed as they can seem. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
