A strange little side quest
If Rubik's Cube 3D sends you down a curiosity rabbit hole, start here. Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris in 1984 after drawing inspiration from pentomino puzzles, then simplified the idea around shapes made from four squares. A second detail makes the picture even better: Midway's Gun Fight from 1975 was the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
