A strange little side quest
Before the next round of Roxie's Kitchen: Croissant, here is a piece of the bigger picture. During much of the 19th century in the United States, visibly painted cosmetics became socially unacceptable even though beauty practices never disappeared. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. That gives Roxie's Kitchen: Croissant a little more company than it first appears to have.
