The next time Rolling Balls asks for one more try, remember that game ideas rarely appear from nowhere. Street Fighter II, released in 1991, turned head-to-head arcade fighting into a worldwide phenomenon and helped define the modern fighting-game genre. And the history keeps stacking up: Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. That long chain of experiments is part of why arcade history still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
