A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Red and Green is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. The name Tetris combines a reference to four-square pieces with Pajitnov's interest in tennis. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. Grombi files that under: small game, surprisingly large backstory.
