A strange little side quest
One reason strategy games keeps producing good game ideas around Red and Blue Snipers is that its history is full of strange turns. Modern chess traces back to the Indian game chaturanga, recorded around the sixth century and built around pieces representing parts of an army. And the history keeps stacking up: Gun Fight reached arcades in 1975 and became the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
