A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Ratatatanks. Chess changed dramatically in Europe during the 15th and 16th centuries when the queen became the board's most powerful piece. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Pong was field-tested in California bars in 1972 and helped launch the modern arcade-game era. That gives Ratatatanks a little more company than it first appears to have.
