A strange little side quest
Put Quiz Brands Test Knowledge next to the history of learning games and a few unexpected connections appear. The Oregon Trail eventually appeared across generations of computer hardware and sold tens of millions of copies, making it one of the most enduring educational games. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: The first crossword puzzle book appeared in 1924 in a cautious initial printing of 3,600 copies, complete with a free pencil. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
