A strange little side quest
The mechanics around PowerPutt Legend have roots that stretch far beyond modern browsers. Games resembling checkers were being played thousands of years ago; evidence of related games reaches back to around 1600 BC. And then there is this: Archery was already on the Olympic programme in 1900, boxing joined the modern Games in 1904, and basketball became a medal sport in 1936. That long chain of experiments is part of why strategy games still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
