A strange little side quest
Pirate Shootout has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Women competed in Olympic archery as early as 1904, making it one of the early Olympic sports to include women. That is only half the story. Doom changed game design and distribution in 1993 by separating its engine from content and spreading widely through shareware. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
