A strange little side quest
Before the next round of Path Rider, here is a piece of the bigger picture. Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 with a character called Jumpman, who would later become one of gaming's most recognizable figures: Mario. And then there is this: The Oregon Trail eventually appeared across generations of computer hardware and sold tens of millions of copies, making it one of the most enduring educational games. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Path Rider feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
