A strange little side quest
Ouroboros Dungeon may feel immediate, but the ideas around role-playing games have been evolving for a very long time. By 1987, fantasy role-playing had become a major computer-game direction, with Zelda, licensed Dungeons & Dragons games and other story-led adventures expanding the form. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Boxing was part of the ancient Olympic Games by 688 BC, long before gloves, weight classes, or timed rounds existed in anything like their modern form. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Ouroboros Dungeon feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
