A strange little side quest

Zoom out from Oida Cube for a moment and the timeline gets surprisingly deep. The name Tetris combines a reference to four-square pieces with Pajitnov's interest in tennis. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Atari's Gran Trak 10 from 1974 is recognized as the first arcade racing video game. It is a good reminder that simple game mechanics can carry a surprising amount of history.
