A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Obby vs Bacon: MCSkyblock is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. The name Tetris combines a reference to four-square pieces with Pajitnov's interest in tennis. That is only half the story. By 1987, fantasy role-playing had become a major computer-game direction, with Zelda, licensed Dungeons & Dragons games and other story-led adventures expanding the form. That gives Obby vs Bacon: MCSkyblock a little more company than it first appears to have.
