A strange little side quest
One reason sports history keeps producing good game ideas around North Hockey is that its history is full of strange turns. Basketball became an Olympic medal sport in 1936, while women’s basketball joined the Olympic programme in 1976. That is only half the story. In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. That gives North Hockey a little more company than it first appears to have.
