A strange little side quest
My Dolphin Show may feel immediate, but the ideas around basketball have been evolving for a very long time. Basketball was invented by James Naismith in 1891 at the International YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts. The same trail leads to another fact: M.U.L.E. arrived in 1983 with multiplayer competition built around gathering resources and keeping a colony alive, an early example of resource-driven strategy play. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
