A strange little side quest
Here is a rabbit hole for the next loading screen in Mostly Only Up: Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 with a character called Jumpman, who would later become one of gaming's most recognizable figures: Mario. And then there is this: In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. It is a good reminder that simple game mechanics can carry a surprising amount of history.
