A strange little side quest
Monster Crush may feel immediate, but the ideas around puzzles have been evolving for a very long time. The name Tetris combines a reference to four-square pieces with Pajitnov's interest in tennis. That is only half the story. The Oregon Trail eventually appeared across generations of computer hardware and sold tens of millions of copies, making it one of the most enduring educational games. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
