A strange little side quest
The next time Monopoly asks for one more try, remember that game ideas rarely appear from nowhere. The Oregon Trail mixed travel, supplies, risk and survival decisions decades before resource-management systems became common in mainstream games. The same trail leads to another fact: Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. That gives Monopoly a little more company than it first appears to have.
