A strange little side quest
One reason space keeps producing good game ideas around Meteors Rain is that its history is full of strange turns. Our solar system formed about 4.6 billion years ago from a cloud of gas and dust collapsing under gravity. The timeline takes another interesting turn: Games resembling checkers were being played thousands of years ago; evidence of related games reaches back to around 1600 BC. That long chain of experiments is part of why space still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
