A strange little side quest

There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Masquerade Makeup Liliana. During much of the 19th century in the United States, visibly painted cosmetics became socially unacceptable even though beauty practices never disappeared. That is only half the story. Space Invaders, released in 1978, helped push video games into mainstream popular culture. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
