A strange little side quest
One reason basketball keeps producing good game ideas around Jump Up 3D: Basketbal is that its history is full of strange turns. The earliest basketball games used peach baskets, and Naismith wrote 13 original rules for the new indoor sport. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Basketball became an Olympic medal sport in 1936, while women’s basketball joined the Olympic programme in 1976. That long chain of experiments is part of why basketball still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
