A strange little side quest

Zoom out from Intrusion for a moment and the timeline gets surprisingly deep. Space Invaders arrived in 1978 and helped turn electronic games from an arcade curiosity into mainstream entertainment. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. Midway's Gun Fight from 1975 was the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
