Between one round of Idle Hotel Empire Tycoon and the next, this is worth knowing: Electric refrigeration reached the American mass market in the late 1920s, changing how households stored food and even how desserts such as ice cream could be made at home. The same trail leads to another fact: M.U.L.E. arrived in 1983 with multiplayer competition built around gathering resources and keeping a colony alive, an early example of resource-driven strategy play. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
