A strange little side quest
A small trivia drop for Hollie Hobby and Friends: Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 with a character called Jumpman, who would later become one of gaming's most recognizable figures: Mario. That is only half the story. The Oregon Trail eventually appeared across generations of computer hardware and sold tens of millions of copies, making it one of the most enduring educational games. That long chain of experiments is part of why platform games still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
