A strange little side quest
Between one round of Hidden Numbers - Pinocchio and the next, this is worth knowing: The name Tetris combines a reference to four-square pieces with Pajitnov's interest in tennis. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: The Oregon Trail eventually appeared across generations of computer hardware and sold tens of millions of copies, making it one of the most enduring educational games. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
