A strange little side quest
A little context makes Hi-Fi Snake more fun to place on the gaming map. Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris in 1984 after drawing inspiration from pentomino puzzles, then simplified the idea around shapes made from four squares. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Women competed in Olympic archery as early as 1904, making it one of the early Olympic sports to include women. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
