A strange little side quest
Before the next round of Hairstyle Design, here is a piece of the bigger picture. During much of the 19th century in the United States, visibly painted cosmetics became socially unacceptable even though beauty practices never disappeared. That is only half the story. Space Invaders, released in 1978, helped push video games into mainstream popular culture. That long chain of experiments is part of why fashion and style still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
