A strange little side quest
GTR Drift may feel immediate, but the ideas around racing have been evolving for a very long time. Atari's Gran Trak 10 from 1974 is recognized as the first arcade racing video game, decades before modern 3D racers. That is only half the story. Midway's Gun Fight from 1975 was the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at GTR Drift feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
