A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Generic Fishing is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. A second detail makes the picture even better: Spacewar! appeared on MIT's PDP-1 in 1962 and became one of the earliest influential computer games shared among programmers.
