A strange little side quest

Franky the Fish belongs to a much longer story of play than a browser tab might suggest. A major archery competition held at Finsbury in England in 1583 drew about 3,000 participants. And then there is this: Pong was field-tested in California bars in 1972 and helped launch the modern arcade-game era. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
