A strange little side quest
One reason simulation games keeps producing good game ideas around Fluid Ship Simulator Sandbox is that its history is full of strange turns. SimCity grew out of Will Wright's enjoyment of the map editor he had built for an earlier game; the act of shaping a city became the game itself. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. That gives Fluid Ship Simulator Sandbox a little more company than it first appears to have.
