Here is a rabbit hole for the next loading screen in Fireboy and Watergirl Kiss: A major archery competition held at Finsbury in England in 1583 drew about 3,000 participants. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Street Fighter II, released in 1991, turned head-to-head arcade fighting into a worldwide phenomenon and helped define the modern fighting-game genre. That long chain of experiments is part of why archery still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
