A strange little side quest
Find Me has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. By 1987, fantasy role-playing had become a major computer-game direction, with Zelda, licensed Dungeons & Dragons games and other story-led adventures expanding the form. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: The Oregon Trail began in 1971 when three student teachers created a computer simulation to help Minnesota schoolchildren learn American history. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
