A strange little side quest
Escape from the Children's Room: Boys Room Edition has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Space Invaders, released in 1978, helped push video games into mainstream popular culture. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: The name Tetris combines a reference to four-square pieces with Pajitnov's interest in tennis. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
