A strange little side quest
One reason puzzles keeps producing good game ideas around Demolo is that its history is full of strange turns. The name Tetris combines a reference to four-square pieces with Pajitnov's interest in tennis. That is only half the story. In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
