A strange little side quest
Put Bratz Flower Girl Dressup next to the history of fashion and style and a few unexpected connections appear. By the 1890s, department stores and mail-order catalogs were selling mass-produced ready-to-wear clothes in standardized styles and price ranges. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. It is a good reminder that simple game mechanics can carry a surprising amount of history.
