A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Black Friday Shopping Frenzy is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. During much of the 19th century in the United States, visibly painted cosmetics became socially unacceptable even though beauty practices never disappeared. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players.
