A strange little side quest
Bff Goes Camping may feel immediate, but the ideas around food history have been evolving for a very long time. Nancy Johnson patented a hand-cranked ice-cream freezer in 1843 that used an inner churning chamber surrounded by ice. The surprising part is how quickly the next milestone followed. During much of the 19th century in the United States, visibly painted cosmetics became socially unacceptable even though beauty practices never disappeared. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
