A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Baby Cathy Ep20: Ear Problem. During much of the 19th century in the United States, visibly painted cosmetics became socially unacceptable even though beauty practices never disappeared. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Midway's Gun Fight from 1975 was the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. It is a good reminder that simple game mechanics can carry a surprising amount of history.
