A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Armadillo Knight is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. Early computer role-playing games helped turn rules, inventories, exploration and character progression into systems that could support long-form digital adventures. A second detail makes the picture even better: Boxing was part of the ancient Olympic Games by 688 BC, long before gloves, weight classes, or timed rounds existed in anything like their modern form. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
